Little brothers to big sisters are very close to my heart (I have a little girl with a little brother myself)! Watching a little girl with a baby is the best thing, even when it’s not. 🙂 This beautiful family invited me over for a newborn lifestyle session at their home in Baton Rouge and was thrilled to meet them. We have lots of mutual friends and they even live a neighborhood over from where my best friend lives! It really is a small world when it comes to babies.
Hayes was a great sport (don’t you love his name?) and I was able to capture a few images on film using my 35mm camera as well. This year, I’ve been trying to incorporate film into my workflow and it has been a great learning tool!
Many families think that their house needs to be perfect, the nursery needs to be amazing and everyone needs to be well behaved for a photo session. That’s just not the case! Houses have lots of mixed lighting, cans from the ceiling, lamps, window light…and sometimes that just doesn’t work as well as I’d want it! So that’s when we get creative! We took this family outside in natural light (right by their door 🙂 ) to create some of my favorite classic images to date. I think it worked out well.
Cheers to you little Hayes Middleton! You are so loved!
